Room Reservations

All hotel reservations will be made for you when you register for the Consultative Meeting. You may register for the Meeting at the Registration page. If you can’t register on-line, please download a registration form and follow up with Tinee Shorts at tshorts@popldr.org. You do not need to contact the hotel the registration coordinator will make room reservations for you. It is recommended that you register for the Meeting as soon as possible given February 2, 2005 deadline. Accommodations are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.

It is possible to cancel your hotel reservation, without penalty, up to 3 days before your expected arrival date by calling 1-800-327-6656. Please note that we cannot guarantee a room will be available if you register AFTER February 2. If a room is available, you will be charged the full rate.

The room cost for a single and double room is $115.00 this includes taxes and fees associated with the stay. A breakdown of these taxes and fees will be reflected on your final bill. You are responsible for paying all your hotel charges including room cost, telephone, room service, mini-bar, etc. in full at checkout. The hotel accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Travelers Checks and Cash.

Continental breakfasts and snacks are included. For lunch and dinner there are several restaurants around the hotel to choose from. However, you are responsible for making the appropriate meal deductions when submitting your travel orders. Please refer to Per Diem Rates -- Federal Travel Regulation for per diem breakout.

Check-in will take place at the Deauville Beach Resort starting Saturday, March 5th. We will open registration on Sunday, March 6 from 3:00 to 7:00.

Please remember to bring a credit card with you as the hotel requires one for check in. If you do not have a credit card, the hotel will require you to pay for your stay in cash upon arrival.

Hotel check in time is 11am. If you are arriving earlier than 11am, please note your arrival time in the hotel “comments” section when registering so that we can make arrangements with the hotel in advance for you to check in early.

If you are attending the meeting but are NOT staying in the Deauville Beach Resort please let us know via email to Tinee Shorts, tshorts@popldr.org, with your local contact information.

Transportation to Hotel

Participants are responsible for their own transportation to hotel and airport. The New Deauville Resort is located on the beach at 67th and Collins Avenue. The Resort is 20 minutes from the Miami airport and 40 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Airport transfers are NOT included in your room rate. There is no free shuttle service provided by the hotel but you can either use a Taxi or SuperShuttle. No prior reservations are necessary to use SuperShuttle but in case you need to call them the number is (305) 871-2000.

Average SuperShuttle cost from Miami airport to hotel is between $11-15 and from Ft. Lauderdale airport to hotel is between $19-25.
Average taxi-ride from Miami airport to hotel is between $20-25 and from Ft. Lauderdale airport to hotel is between $30-35

If you choose to rent a car, you should be aware that there is a $19/day fee for parking through the hotel valet service.

It is imperative during the registration process that you include your arrival and departure information on the form.
