The ANE regional State of the Art Consultative Meeting for PHN Staff is scheduled for October 4-8, 2004 in New Delhi. This meeting promises to provide several formats for sharing lessons learned and discussion of cutting edge issues with key experts in child health, reproductive health, maternal health and HIV/AIDS, as well as cross-cutting areas in behavior change communication and health systems. The new learning platform, “open space”, will give participants an opportunity to discuss their country-specific issues in depth and to seek relevant solutions.
The PHN SOTA is held every two years, and this will be the first year the ANE region is separated from E&E, to the advantage of both regions. Given the high profile and expectations of funding mechanisms such as the Global Fund, MAP and PEPFAR, it is extremely critical for USAID PHN staff to be prepared for an environment of shifting priorities. The SOTA is one of the only opportunities for PHN teams to obtain critical technical, programmatic, and other updates. It also provides a forum for everyone to exchange information and ideas with colleagues in other missions and USAID/Washington, as well as discuss issues that are pertinent to the ANE region.
We encourage all PHN staff to attend, including direct hires, FSNs, PSCs, TAACS and Fellows, and hope to see you there!
