HOTEL INFORMATION

A block of sleeping rooms has been tentatively reserved within walking distance of the AED Conference Center: Jurys Washington Hotel, 1500 New Hampshire Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20036. Phone: 202-483-6000; and the Marriott Courtyard, 1900 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20009. Phone: 202-332-9300. We will make hotel reservations for you and send you an e-mail confirming your reservation and the exact name and location of your hotel. The cutoff date for making reservations is September 27, 2002. Submitting your name with arrival/departure dates to Angela Robinson at arobinson@phnip.com will guarantee your room. The room cost is $150/night (including applicable taxes) for a single room.

You will be responsible for all your hotel costs upon your departure including room cost, telephone, room service, mini-bar, daily garage parking, etc. The Hotel accepts the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover Card and cash. If you plan to pay in cash, the hotel requires a $30 cash deposit per/night of stay in addition to full payment of room costs at check-in. At check-out, you would pay any balance, or the hotel will refund any over payment. If the hotel owes you more than $100, the hotel will refund you a check mailed to you. Please be aware of this substantial upfront payment if you plan to pay by cash.

Continental breakfasts/breaks (Oct. 6-11) will be available at the Conference Center. For daily lunches/dinners, there are plenty of nearby restaurants/delis to choose from. Please note: Per diem in Washington, DC is $196 with $150 allocated to lodging and $46 for M&IE. The hotel portion of the per diem is a total amount that must cover the room and all taxes that may be added to the room charge. Transfers from airports: You are responsible for transportation to and from the airport and the hotel. Taxi cabs cost approximately $16-18 from Ronald Reagan National Airport, and approximately $48-50 from Dulles International Airport. You may also arrange transportation through Super Shuttle (703) 416-6661. Super Shuttle costs $9 from Ronald Reagan National Airport and $20 from Dulles International Airport. Metro service is also available from Ronald Reagan National Airport to Dupont Circle. Metro fare is $1.55 and takes approximately 25 minutes. Neither hotel provides shuttle service to the airport. Hotel car parking is $20/day plus tax.

Conference sessions will take place at the AED Conference Center. It's within walking distance of the hotels and a short walk north on Connecticut Ave. from the Dupont Circle Metro station.
